It(I think) was originally somewhere around 20k and rated Class "A". THe ML30 walked all over it and was never too be heard from again...until now.

I'm sure a 1950s turntable wasn't killer in 1986 when the LP12's were the hot stuff :)I made the mistake(?) to compare a loaded LP12 with a "high-end" CD player (I think it was an Accuphase) in 1986... I think it was about 1994 when I finally broke down and bought a CD player and my first CDs, mostly because the music wasn't available on vinyl anymore. Now I have a stack of old vinyl in the basement and no turntable to play it on.

I would, if I could, give an audition before dissing a "1992 design"... The best DAC I've ever heard is *still* the Wadia 9, and that's a design from around that time.
wadia 9 with C.E.C tl0 was the killer kombo the last 10 years... in the top high end
but i had compared it with the new jadis JD1mkIII and js1DAC 24/192 and it is now the winner ... but what a price.... (30000$) and please don't talk me about the benchmark dac or pc audio looks like a plastic toys....
