Well, it seems to me like you can do better than this unit, particularly if you look for a used higher quality unit. I see that you are not adverse to the Chinatronics invasion, which is fine, but you have got to look at more than the selling price. First there is how do the units perform, second you have got to think about quality and reliability. Even established Chinese manufacturers can have serious quality lapses, and newer outfits are not necessarily any better. Cayin does not exactly have a great rep in either department. I would advise to not be impatient, check the market frequently, and look for quality brands.

So, what are your recommendations? $775 is pretty much my price limit, and for a CDP, I would rather go new.
Seriously - consider it.I suspect you're likely to have fewer reliability from a better quality, lightly used quality player than cheap "new" Chinese unit.
Every CD player I've owned in the last 10 years was purchased used or demo and I've never had the first problem. Nada. Zero. None. I researched players. It worked. I got more bang for the buck.
Why not consider used? Because there's only so much life that can be expected from a laser.I don't plan on buying more than 1 CDP in the next 10 years, so I expect the one I get to last.
