Hello,
my msb coax output doesn't work. what seems to be the problem? I hope somebody can help me on this. Thank you.

thanks to all who replied to my query. I will try what you all have recommended.
Hi.I have an MSB Gold Link DAC with the P1000 Power Base. It is in a system I use in my home office.
The MSB requires that the input unit (CD,DVD) be turned on before turning on (connect the AC to) the MSB. If this is not done the MSB may not "link" to the input unit.
Sometimes, if you turn off the input unit (your CD or DVD player) and turn it back later, the MSB may loose this link and it requires turning off (disconnecting the AC of) the MSB and turning it back again in about 15 seconds or so. Note that the MSB is not supposed to be turned off and the input unit should remain on all the time as well.
Last, if you have the 96khz board installed you shoud check that the internal switch in the MSB is in normal mode and not in the MSB Network mode.
What can anyone say unless you give more info. Do other outputs work?
I'm sorry for the lack of info. actually it's the coax in not out as what i wrote earlier, well the optical in is still working and I'm using it right now. I noticed that the coax doesn't work when i tried to use a digital cable. I'm sure my transport is ok because it's new. thanks.
1) Are you certain that your transport is putting out a digital signal from it's coaxial output?2) Disconnect the optical input / output and try it with just the coaxial cable.
I'm positive that my transport is fine. I tried and no, no sound.
thanks
Since most S/DIF receiver chips use the same input for TOSlink and coax, it is likely that the internal circuitry, except for the input selector, is OK. The first things I'd check would be the coax cable and the coax connector on the MSB (is it connected internally?).
my cable is fine. yes the coax connector is integrated in the circuit board. I'm not a electronics engineer so i don't know how to differentiate the parts. it looks clean and no burnt parts as far as I can tell. by the way I have the 96k upsampling installed. thanks
If you can't recognize electronic components, you need a technician.
