I would like to trade in my current player Ah! Super Tjoeb 4000/upsampled for something that is more suited to rock music. I will be able to get about $900 for my current player and tubes that go with it. So I am looking for something in the $1000 range used. Can you guys reccomend some cd players that can be had for $1000 on the used market that are especially good with heavy rock music?? The rest of my system is.
Exposure Xv integrated
Klipsch RF-3
Straightwire Serenade interconnect
Exposure double bi-wire speaker cable. What are some ideas?? I was considering Exposure 2010, Naim Nait 5i, Arcam cd92 or cd23, Rega Jupiter 2000, Creek cd50. What do you guys think??
Follow Ups:
the obvious choices are Naim and Creek....
BUT, if you really wanna get your money's worth, try chinese Original 2008se or Eastsound E5. I have Eastsound E5, and its a killer. I would love to take it head to head with $1500 Naim. I think Eastsound would come out on top, but thats just my opinion. Just make sure to research those 2 models if you can before you make your purchase. I also listen to mostly rock and metal.
I use the Arcam CD92.It's excellent all round, very neutral and natural.Naim sounds harsh and grating by comparison
Naim is apparently the way to go. I have an Arcam CD93 and although it is a fine sounding player it is just a bit too smooth for rock which is what I largely listen to. I should have auditioned more carefully at the time and unfortunately I heard the Naim after the fact! Anyway, if I was to buy another CDP today I would definitely go the Naim route.
II am considering selling off my current system and starting from scratch. I put the current system together when I was on a very strict budget and i definitly made some sacrafices to stay under my bbudget. So I am considering selin it off and starting from scratch with a new system. Two of the systems I have really been considering are
Naim Nait 5i
Naim Cd5i
Naim Ariva or used Credo'sor
Exposure 3010 integrated(curently use an Exposure xv which i may keep)
Exposure 3010 cd
Havent decided a speaker for this system but the I have heard that Epos, Neat, PMC and Totem work well with Exposure.Any of you guys have any other ideas in my budget for a system that would excel on heavy rock music?? I will be upgrading my cd player first then my speakers. So any ideas besides the Naim cd5??
