I am not qualified to write reviews? Let's do this; Let's have you and every other reviewer post their resumes and I will post mine. Let's see who is really "qualified".How many have a degree in Music?
How many even play an instrument?
How many have played jazz and classical concerts in major international venues?
Ever conducted a symphony orchestra?
Ever written orchestrations?
Ever composed original music and had it recorded and performed?
Ever played studio sessions for published recordings?
Ever produced an album?
Ever engineer an album?
Ever written, arranged, produced and performed music for an international TV show broadcast to 2 billion people?
Ever gotten a standing ovation?
Ever written, arranged, produced and performed music for artists such as Johnny Cash in concert at Madison Square Garden?
Ever played some of the worlds largest pipe organs?
Ever been the director of a 200 voice choir and 40 piece orchestra?
Oh yeah...and ever sold high end audio equipment?
Ever build his own amps and speakers?
How 'bout it Mr. Kuller? What are (were)your qualifications?
Follow Ups:
...when I was a kid I brushed up against Packer QB Bart Starr in the grocery store.
I *did* stay at a Holiday Inn Express last month...
... there's nothing in your long and impressive list that suggests an ability to write well or otherwise perform credibly as a critic.
Not to be insulting but that was about the worst I've seen/read.
...you won't do well in the audio reviewing business if you take every criticism personally and get defensive.I suggest you look at the criticisms as an opportunity to improve your product.
It's not about anyone's qualifications - you're the one who brought that up.
It's about the thoroughness, knowledge, quality and validity of the reviews you publish.
If you have to be defensive, at least address the specific criticisms.
