It is awesome to see your name pop up here!!I was frightened, shocked, and really bummed to hear about your cycling accident. As a fellow cyclist, it is very, very, difficult, and scary to hear such things. I have been thinking about you quite a lot, and I am hoping that your recovery not only encompasses your participation here; but also the other physical, mental, and spiritual activities as well.
If it is your desire to get back up on the bike ASAP, - I wish you quick speed in that endeavor too!!!
Cheers,
If it's not love, then it's the bomb that'll bring us together
Thanks for the kind words and positive thoughts. I'm back on wheels again, but now it's a wheelchair. More details are on my blog (linked below). The injuries are described in the third post down, "The last cast is off".
I've known of your accident since the news was first posted at the Asylum, but today was the first time I looked at your blog and read the detailed list of injuries. Then when I read:there was some speculation that I would regain sensation and mobility in my legs. After ten weeks this has not happened, so for the forseeable future I will be in a wheelchair.
I felt moved to post a reply to you. Despite this terrible situation, you are here carrying on, seemingly as before; and I am very impressed. I hope you can maintain your positive outlook even when you have a bad day.
Davis Phinney may be your inspiration - but you are ours.
Regards,
Geoff

anyone who listened to Beefheart is OK by me. Legend has it he broke a microphone with just his voice. (unlike Madonna....who in a a fit of pop-eroticism almost swallowed a mic onstage)

Yet Trout Mask Replica is never referred to by magazine writers
in their hardware reviews. Go figure!

Safe as Milk as one of my R2D4s .Before my time--for me a recent discovery.
I dunno. I seem to recall Harley mentioning it over and over during his tenure with you guys which is why I ultimately popped for it. I've sprung many times for music that's been touted in the august pages of the various audio journals and, more often than not, regretted it. TMR is the ONLY album I let myself be cajoled into that I'm truly embarrassed to own.
I'll even pay shipping
then I recommend you stay away from Wild Man Fischer albums, too ;> )
Thanks for the headsup. Just last night I almost pulled the trigger on WMF's whole discography on Amazon. LOL!
if Stereophile can do R2D4, then maybe the Asylum can do R2 Avoid at all Costs...
