WOW! For 20 bucks, the build quality of these cables is amazing. The connectors you see in the pic are all metal. Got it to replace an $80.00 top-of-the-line plastic optical cable. I just plugged it in and already it seems to be slightly better as the much more expensive cable. Further listening may prove it to be much better.?
Also, I ordered it from Parts Express late Tuesday night(UPS Ground) and it was on my doorstep when I got home today. Not bad eh?
Follow Ups:
The Toslink you got is a deluxe version of the 'glass Toslink that P.E. first offered. I got from a seller on ebay before Parts Express began selling them. I like my 'glass alot too. The advantage is that the glass fiber Toslink's have far more bandwidth than the plastic. Even more bandwidth than digital co-ax!
Well, one thing's for sure, I had to turn down my DSP a couple notches.(was clipping the DAC). So, either getting more gain or more info. ? or both? Hell, I'm no expert. But, in all honesty, the Monster Toslink was a good cable. I think the biggest difference is the price.
Sounds similar to the one from Sound Professionals. The one that got reviewed here favorably. I paid $50 for that.
