I am currently running an AudioQuest Colorodo between my phono stage and my pre amp and an AudioQuest Python between the pre amp and the power amp. I plan to up grade the IC between the pre amp and the power amp. Is there any benifit in having the same brand of interconnect in both loctions.

HowdyI'd say that usually it depends more on the components being connected than matching IC brands. Tho I have heard that Jena Labs sounds best when they are used for both ICs and speaker wire...
Personally I've mixed AudioQuest ICs and speaker wires with lots of other brands. In fact I'm using TG Audio speaker wires for my front left, center and right speakers and AudioQuest Mont Blanc for the rear speakers. Also I have TG Audio High Purity balanced ICs for my SACD signal path and AudioQuest ICs for my DVD-A and SimAudio Air. I still have some Anaconda and lots of Cobra's and balanced Panthers laying around.
No. I have mixed cables for many years. At one time I had Transparent, Nordost, and Siltech in various places. Changed them around for fun. Now I have primarily the Pure Note Titaniums which do well as an ensemble. YMMV.
Have you ever tried using all the same brand ICs from source through power amp.
