My Shanling STP 80 and T200 came with stock power cords, after careful review I notice that they are OFC and have hospital grade Marinco connectors both look pretty well built however I was looking into upgrading but most of the power cord upgrade have the same components as my stock power cords. Is there any benefit to an upgrade? I know that my equipment is Chinese made so I personally dont know if they have built a good quality cord but in my eyes they look pretty damn good.
Follow Ups:
Some manufacturers actually voice their equipment with a stock power cord (blasphemy, I know). And since your power cord is not the typical 1 dollar cord, there might be a good chance that yours was voice with it too. (I'm getting in big trouble here, I can feel it.)So, if you replace the power cord with something else, you might make a change but you probably won't make an improvement (that's it, this guy has gone too far!).
I would improve the AC wall outlet first, and play games with the power cord later.
When you decided to buy the Shanling units you must have made some sort of positive decision on the engineering and manufacturing capabilities of the manufacturer. Why would this not include their choice of power cords?
Audiophile equipment is manufactured for a small group of enthusiasts who often value using upgraded power cords - even modest ones- because of much higher plug quality, wanting a specific length ,subtle tonal or noise characteristics and extra shielding etc. Since a manufacturer cannot predetermine an individuals needs or wants they usually include the cheapest power cord they can by in bulk. The choice is now up to you - a radical idea to some.
.....your question is perfectly valid. One can try out Power cords at the link provided and then buy if/when U find the one U like. However, Matt is right. Start at the wall first and then move to the Power cord. If your still using the contractor grade AC receptacles, your handicapping your system right from the start.
As to the Marinco's, I have found that they sound somewhat monotonous in the bass and a little grainy in the highs as compared to Oyaides but these were the base model Marinco's. Also, the Marinco's sound MUCH better if the wires are soldered to the plugs.

I was pleasantly suprised at what a mere PS Audio Ultimate Outlet (HC) was able to accomplish. If a high grade outlet can provide for furthur improvments i'll be pleased.
Your profile indicates a digital source. The conventional wisdom is that the Ultimo SWO-XXX is less beneficial than the SWO-GX+ for digital source, and I have found that to be true.If you have any treble harshness, excessive sibilance, overt emphasis on 'detail,' or midrange dryness, go with the SWO-GX+.
The digital source and amp at this time need to run from the same outlet so i appreciate your input.I have an Ultimate Outlet i hadn't added to the profile yet and expect to pick up a PS Audio Duet so I can have the amp and CDP isolated from one another while both having the advantage of a quieter line.
While that is certainly a step in the right direction, the Ultimo's have not garnered much praise from those that have upgraded to them. I have not personally tried the Ultimo's but am entirely happy with the original Oyaide lineup.Just do an AA search for Ultimo's to see what others have experienced.
If it were me deciding on what outlet(s) to upgrade to, it would be the SWO-DX as there R still some of the originals in stock at Cryo Parts. Just click on the link provided.

Seems that PCs are idiosyncratic. What works in one component doesn't necessarily work in another; what works for one guy ---- you get the picture!Yes, Marinco hospital grade are good over the counter terminations. Are both ends Marinco? OK, if you, then you can open them up probably and see if the wires are screwed or soldered into the terminations. If screwed, then you are able to easily experiment with other wires/geometries in between, which may indeed change your opinion of the sonics of your system.
If not, well you can always try on approval from a good seller and see if a different PC appeals to you more.
A lot depends on what type of outlets you have in the wall, and in your distribution system...If you still have hardware store outlets in the wall, try an outlet made by one of the Audio mfgrs like Oyaide or Furutech or Wattgate.
