I have tried to do a search but there are simply too many posts to sift through so I thought it might be easier if I just asked in a new post.My speakers are biwirable (Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage) and I have two options to connect it.
1) A pair of Kimber Kable Select KS3035 (Copper and Silver Hybrid) to the mid-range and a pair of Kimber Kable KS3038 (All Silver) to the tweeter. This is cosmetically the messier option (the cables are pretty thick) but maybe the biwiring would bring audible benefits. In my experience most older SF speakers benefit from biwiring.
2) Run the KS3038 as a single run to the mid-range and use a pair of KS9038 (all Silver) jumpers to connect to the tweeters (and use the KS3035 for something else). This one is tidier in terms of what goes on behind the rack and an all silver approach but then I am not biwiring.
I know some of you might say it's overkill but would appreciate any opinions on which configuration might be best based on real-life experience. I will try both myself just to see but I would also like to hear from others.
Follow Ups:
I used kimber ks3033(cooper) to the woofer and nordost red dawn to the tweeter , this was the best combination with my SF guarniere. But when i use only one cable , it was clear that Sf guarniere needs silver cable, so the red dawn was beter than kimber ks 3033, and the pure note paragon was better than nordost red dawn.
I have Kef 103/4s with Analysis Plus Oval nines (all copper)connected to the low frequency posts and Analysis Plus Silver Ovals connected to the high frequency posts. This combination is superior to the following single wiring options:
(1)Silver Ovals connected to the HF posts and bridged with high purity silver wire to the LF posts and
(2)Oval Nines connected to the LF posts and bridged to the HF with the silver wire.
The biwiring exhibits both the clarity of (1) and the bass fullness of (2, very satisfying discovery - so I bought both cables.
In summary, it's worth trying those combinations if you have the wire.
The over-baked, bass-prevalent KS-3033 will not be a good match for the GH. The hybrid KS-3035 left me and friends in a quandry. While it is more honest than the all-copper KS-3033, it still isn't as sublime as the all-silver KS-3038.The Kimber Select speaker cables can be terminated with WBT slant bananas. So, you should go with a single run of KS-3038, coupled with the 9038 jumper. That jumper, BTW, is very, very good. It should be more than sufficient, and, as you pointed out, makes for a neater arrangement. When time and finances permit, you could, at some future date, add a second KS-3038. The slant bananas can be stacked at the amp end.
In my setup, going biwire with the KS3035 to the woofer and the KS3038 to the tweeter was better than going single wire (KS3038) and using the jumpers even though I fully agree that there will probably be more to come if I have a second pair of KS3038s!
