I think the performance gain of the 4 over a 2 is realized with a dedicated 20 amp circuit and a current-hungry amp.
Follow Ups:
I'm gonna buy either a Flavor 4 or 2 cable for my channel islands phono preamp...since its a small piece of gear that doesn't require much juice, will a Flavor 4 suffice?i'd like 'the ultimate' cable.
On a side note, i just rewired a pc for my hsu subwoofer with Flavor 2 cable...its an instant "Oh yeah!" reaction compared to the stock pc.
I think a 2 with upgraded connectors would outperform a 4 with standard connectors in your application. CVH will tell you for sure though.
I just purchased a length of Flavor 2 for my powered sub...holy shmokes is it amazing!Right away I e-mailed Chris about my phono pre and received info back that either the 2 or 4 would work...so i'm just trolling for an opinion. the Flav 4 sounds like it would be overkill in this app.
Either cable would get my preferred plugs, Oyaide P-079 male and Furutech FI-11 Ag iec end...mated to SWO-XXX outlets.
again, as usual, i'm looking for 'the ultimate'.
i'll probably end up buying lengths of each type and playin' around. Chris' crazy copper makes the DH Labs power Plus cable i've been using sound a little 'sleepy', or really mellow and neutral - though VERY good.
If anyone reading this has the idea in their head that 'cable is just cable', give one of Chris V's Flavor's a try - you'll change your mind.
