Has anyone tried the mapleshade product line? Golden Helix Cables? Any thoughts? They have a guarantee for 30 days and the owner states that they sound better than Nordost and many other high end audio cables costing thousands.Would like to get some feedback? Currently I am running DH Labs Q10

I agree that had you done even a cursory search or even scrolled down half a page, you would have seen other threads. This one now being present, I will add an addendum to my review half a page down.
After further attempts at break-in by listening four hours a day for an additional ten days and hearing no improvement, I have concluded that the Mapleshades, at least in my system, are defintely on the thin and etched side with poor definition of bass timbre and tone. Putting my LATs back in were a welcome relief.
On the plus side, the Mapleshades do a fine job with treble and upper midrange and enhanced the image depth and soundstage width. They are as fast a speaker cable as I've heard and very dynamic.
On the donwside, and a "ruin-er" is the above referenced overall thin-ness and etched character, particulary noticeable with female vocals in the upper register and one-tone bass.
Hey Sonic Smith. Do you think that upgrading to the "Double" verions that supposivly gives you 4 more octaves in bass would fix your problem? I don't like how much more these cost but it does seem to be a solution.

Double Golden Helix with Mapleshade ribbon jumpers from bass taps to treble on my bi-wirable speakers.
and still love'm. They are very "copper" sounding with a bit of etch (to my ears) which is what I like. They lend the "Mapleshade Sound" to your speakers--livens them up. Being a hard, stiff wire handling them can be tricky. I finally re-coiled them and stretched them from amp to speaker, accordion-style, which eliminates them touching the floor. You have 30 days--what the hey? Also, I used their IC's for two years (before they introduced the ribbons) and really liked them also. I did develop a short in one cable, though, which shortened the life of their use. And, I also have their digital IC which I did NOT like. Instead of lending the Mapleshade Sound, they acutally toned down the signal. Just the opposite of what I had experienced with the IC's and speaker wire.
There is lots of info. And I think more good than bad.
I use two 8ft runs of Clearview Golden Helix biwiring my speakers. I have been very happy with it. I've commented on it many times, just do a search.
Jeff
Well, I was looking into the double golden helix however I need 10ft and not 8. Would like to run them biwire however Pierre recommends not to. He states that they sound better single run with jumpers? Any ideas?
...them, and both have tried a lot of wires over the years. The one running the doubles is especially 'picky' so I take that as a good endorsement.I'm going back and forth between trying the mapleshade's and the speltz anti-cables. Since I haven't made the move it probably means I'm satisfied with my wires now. ; )
"They have a guarantee for 30 days and the owner states that they sound better than Nordost and many other high end audio cables costing thousands."Mapleshade can be a little "loose with the tongue" so to speak with it's claims. Most of their products R solid and well engineered with validity, but some of their claims certainly raise eyebrows.
Not to sound like an a$$ but since Mapleshade has a 30 day money back gaurantee, why not try them yourself, in your system, and make an informed judgment and then report back to us?
Cheers,
Well, I saw your thread answer before Kenster, looks like you copied it and paste it again, thanks for the info!
