My guess is, since KEFs are much more resolving than Energy C-9 in everything, including bass, I can hear that difference. When used on Energy, Res. Ref. was better at everything, including bass.
About Satori - thanks for the recommendation. It's something that pops up frequently when people duscuss upgrades. Although, I've read here post from a person who compared shotgun version to StraightWire Black Silc biwire, and was taken aback by loss of bass (it could be that StraightWire exaggregates it, of course).
Oh well... there's no way to know other than listen for myself.
Follow Ups:
Its copper cable, unless they put a filter inline, just use some nice 12 gauge cable that you can get in bulk from many sources. There is no magic in these cables, of course we would know that if the powers that be here really allowed scientific testing results on this forum.Your amps and other gear have no brain they have no idea what cable is hooked up to them so the whole line of BS about synergy etc is just that BS. Pleas have someone explain how a audio gear has any idea a PSA cable or Home Depot cable is hooked up to it. They cant.
snooze.
By the cable geometry and wire gauge which alters the electrical properties of the cable and the damping factor of the amp thus the amplifier performs differently with different cables. Why do you think some amps aren't stable with high capacitance cables and will shut down...I think that amplifier brains can tell the difference between cables.
