Anyone gone from T-14's to something significantly better? I'm using EL84 amps and Spendor 2/3's. Thanks.
Follow Ups:
I also used T-14 for a while with my mono blocs and various speakers, Maggie MG12s for the past six months. I thought it was great untill I tried some Kimber 4TC. The 4TC is so much smoother and open for around the same cost.
Try some used off Agon, you will love it.
It has been awhile since I ran the DH Labs, a good inexpensive cable but as said the T-14 do not allow enough clean info thru. There are many good options on the used market, but if you are on a budget:
MAS Hybrid from Audioparts - about $200new or Synergistic Research Sig. 2 - $125-175 used will give a nice overall improvement from the respectable T-14. Better still would be Analysis Plus Oval 9, $175-225 used.
I used short lengths of T-14 between my tube mono blocs and my Magnepan MG12's for quite a while, enjoying the sound the whole time. Then I tried some 14 gauge magnet wire, and it's going to be in my system for a long, long time. Recently, just for reference, I put the T-14 back in for a listen and was surprised to hear just how grungy it sounded compared to the magnet wire. So it's magnet wire for me. YMMV

Sounds interesting. With enamel insulation?
I bought my magnet wire at my local electronics supply store, and it is the normal, reddish colored stuff. I don't know if it's varnish or enamel or some sort of plastic coating, but it is quite resilient, and even twisting wires together seems to be safe. Considering the low cost of a roll of this stuff, it might be worth your while to try it. By the way, I have just scraped the insulation off each end with an X-acto blade and used the wire without spades or bananas.

T-14 is a very decent entry cable in that it is very even handed including at the frequency extremes, and importantly doesn't have any nasty attributes (such as glare). However it is not hard to beat and against a better cable you'll notice the T-14 is a bit sterile sounding.I would recommend you strike up a conversation with a dealer and let them know you're thinking of getting better cables and would like to try some at various price points to determine where in the market you're likely to end up (now anyway).
BTW I don't think DH Labs Q10 would be much of an upgrade as it basically sounds like T14 if marginally better and IMHO T14 is the greater bargain by far.
