I have some reservations about using Eichmann connectors: they look so flimsy. In the long run they are not very resistant to heavy use. The WBT Nextgens have a more solid build quality.
Follow Ups:
and the Eichmann's are about as close to zero as you can get. Measure any full metal RCA and it's C is very high. As for robustness, they do quit nicely. When they are attached to low C cables (silver wrapped aroung backer rod) they do very well. I would replace the female RCA's in my pre amp but unfortunately they are not replaceable.
wow what a giftso you can tell by how something looks how it will perform or function ?
that is very useful skill, i wish i could have had you look at my 2001 Oldsmobile Alero some years back when i purchased it brand new from the dealer....what a piece of crap in terms of reliability and durablity...come to think of it performance with the v6 was not that hot either....
Nothing is flimsier LOOKING than the Eichmann bananas, but they're really robust. I know because I switch them at my speakers to change polarity. I've moved them in and out hundreds of times with no apparent issues, and they continue to hold quite tightly.
they are low-mass devices. Yes, this probably means they are not as robust as others ... but I'll take the sonic advantages of minimal-metal plugs/sockets any day! :-))But then I spend my time listening to music ... not plugging/unplugging components!! ;-))
