I'm trying to rewire my recording studio with the best wire available. I've been back and forth with silver wire, plated copper and just about every combination of the two. I just can't get the facts straight! I have thousands of feet of ballanced, line and mic level runs to make. I am seriously considering using silver wire but I've been told that it has never been done before (an entire studio that is!) Would it make that much of a difference, and if so, in what way? Which cable is the best for this application?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,You definitely need to check SlinkyLinks silver IC's & speaker cables for that matter..
The website link below and contact David Irvine for more info and advice.
I'm totally wired with Slinky cables now, they are VERY simple in design yet VERY sophisticated in performance. The pricing is very reasonable too and you might get a really good offer since you'll be needing plenty..
To my ears, they have surpassed cables at twice and three times their price..
Hope this helps..

The balanced ones are not shielded but just a fifth wire is used for drain. Mhm, I'm not sure they are good for running the balanced audio signal over meters and meters. Shielding is crucial in this case.
There are many great silver cables on the market. I know of some studios that are wired with Siltech cables (expensive). What is your budget?
Check out the Zoalla line silver pro audio cables. Very well constructed and can be had at reasonable prices if you check around on the web:
It seems to me that they are not twisted: in differential (symmetrical) transmission, often employed in balanced audio, you need twisting to cancel the noise over long runs of the cable (which becomes an antenna).
