The Oyaide connectors are VERY nice too - they seem fuller than the ubiquitous Eichmanns, without losing any of the Bullet Plugs' detail.

These are gorgeous!!! I am also pleased to hear your comments about the Eichmann's and Oyaides. I hold a rather unpopular view that the Silver Bullets sound flat/dead. The Oyaides are my favorites right now. And I like working with them moreso than the too-delicate Bullets.
... I find the Bullet Plugs the easiest of all RCA plugs to work with. Haven't tried the silver ones though. My current favorite IC wires are the Oyaide PA-02 and I must have wired up 8-10 pairs with copper Bullet Plugs.
Like you, I find the the Bullet Plugs the easiest to solder. It's almost like tinning a wire rather than soldering a connector.I've not had a problem with melting the Eichmanns' housing, though that's been mentioned as a problem before.
I've not tried commercially available IC cable besides the ubiquitous Belden coax. How do you find the Oyaide wire vs. other DIY designs, like Chris' twisted helix?
I have not tried any Belden recipes. All of my ICs (admittedly, I have only been DIY'ing for about 3 years now) have been made with bulk wire, both silver and copper. So I can't comment on Belden, but I do have experience with/opinions on copper versus silver using bulk wire. BTW, I also buy uninsulated so I insulate it myself as well.
Bevo , What are your opinions concerning silver vs copper on building IC's and why one over the other . I'm always interested .Also what are your impresions Dave , of the Oyaide IC cable .
TIA
My opinion is nothing that has not been said here before. I find that *to my ears and on my system* silver provides a more transparent and life-like sound. Use all the cliches you choose - more air, the speakers disappear, blah blah blah. Copper sounds muddied, veiled and slow (insert additional cliches here _______). Interestingly, up until 4-5 years ago, I was a non-believer with regard to sonic properties of cabling. Then I experienced my own personal epiphany in my basement. But - as with all else - my opinions are simply that. Other folks have different opinions and experiences which I respect completely.
I like the Oyaide wire a lot -- very open, great bass, just plain musical once you get past its frightful sounding break-in period. The downside is that doesn't seem to be freely available as finished cable (i.e., with connectors), but the nice thing is that you can make cables to length and the price is right. Besides these, I haven't done much IC DIY beyond playing around with magnet wire and reterminating Music Boy/Petra cables. Would like to try the Chris VH stuff one of these days.

Go to the link and scroll down. It's cheaper from Take Five, but the free shipping from Cryo-Parts more than makes up the difference unless you're buying a large quantity. I do recommend these folks for speedy service.
May I ask where did you obtain the plugs?
Are they easy to work with (soldering, etc.)?Thanks,
They have the cryo'ed version as well and reasonable prices, though if you pay in CDN$ (I'm in the States) you'll get a better exchange rate. The folks at Take Five Audio are wonderful to deal with - highly recommended.
I love the Oyaides. I find them easy to work with. There are several sources for them. I get mine from Mike at Electrum Audio - info@electrumaudio.com. He is very friendly, honest and helpful so I get pretty much all my stuff from him.
If you can work with the WBTs or Daytons from Parts Express, you can work with these. Because the Oyaides are silver-plated, they may actually be easier to solder as they heat up faster and retain it better, creating a better solder joint.
