I have bulk 89207 I used for some XLR cables, would this be just as good or better than the other Belden used for subwoofers? How would I connect the two center conductors, just parallel them?
Follow Ups:
I just built a bunch of ICs with the 89207 which are just incredible.
So I made a 6ft one for the sub. It totallly blew away AQ, DHLabs and Monster I tried before.
The specs look good on the 89207. 20 gauge, low capacitance, teflon, very low loss.
Don't parallel the two center conductors, use them individually as pos and neg. The only reason to use the braided shield would be for a telescoping interconnect to cut down RFI. In that case you would connect the shield to the neg at one end of the cable only and use that end at the source component. Can't imagine this would be necessary when you're only dealing with frequencies below 200 hz or so. Bottom line is that you already have the cable so why not just give it a shot.
I only have 100' left of the cable, and not sure how easy it is to obtain anymore vs the other common belden cables. This will be run for 26ft, so not sure if the smaller gauge will suffice or not?
