Thought I'd spice things up with some photos of my latest builds.
First up, a 75ohm digital cable for connecting my CD player direct to my CD recorder:Recipe: VHAudio cryo'ed Pulsar cable - copper center conductor, Teflon dielectric, fine silver plated shield; cryo'ed Canare 75ohm RCAs. Thanks Chris for the suggestion to use the Pulsar for a digital cable.
Second, an RCA to mini-phono cable for connecting my wife's iPod to our stereo system:Recipe: 2x24ga solid strand, Teflon dielectric wires per channel; cryo'd Cardas RCAs; cryo'ed Canare stereo mini-phono; TechFlex multifiliment nylon covering.
Follow Ups:
what did you use to build up the diameter of the pulsar cable so that it fit snuggly in the jacks? I've read some use teflon tape, nylon, EAR C-1002 paper, etc.
I used clear heat shrink. Not the best dielectric, but it's convienient and has good holding power. It would take a LOT of Teflon tape to build up the right thickness.
