In the end I have found a pair of 1,5m Cardas 300B Microtwin terminated with Cardas silver RCAs.
I wonder if their sonics will change with break-in.
Until now I find them a little closed in the highs and with a little bloated bass.
Quite different from my other Straightwire Chorus actually (really good for the price indeed).
By the way the midrange is clear and there is more than a hint of soundstage depth (very very important for me).
Any information about their break-in would be very welcome and appreciated.
Kind regards,beppe
Follow Ups:
If they are like the rest of the line, give them time... Cardas always takes a lot of time to settle in.I find that Cardas is generally somewhat "heavy" in the bass (this attribute tends to get better as you go further up in their product lines), but the midrange purity is more than worth it.
You should find that all their qualities tend to get better with time.
Thank you very much for your kind and valuable advice.
I will use a radio in order to speed-up the process.
Thank you very much again.
Kind regards,beppe
My friend Beppe,Cardas cables can be bloated and a little dark depending on the system. I recommend time on all cables, YMMV.
Thank you very much for your kind reply Mr Trufi.
Do you mean that are very far from neutrality ? not linear ?
Nevertheless I have a mixed sensation.
For instance I know how it is difficult to get depth of image and they do this already now (very good quality in my opinion).
Hopefully some break-in will help.
I read that solid core cables are "harder" to break-in, that they need more time.Kind regards,
