I few weeks back I picked up an Audio Prism Mantissa preamp and have been in audio heaven ever since.Does anyone know where I could find an owner's manual? I'd be willing to pay for one.

The great thing about the Mantissa, is how cheap you can buy them, (if you can find one)....top quality sound!
Thanks for the quick informative responses to this inquiry.
I've got the original "information flyer" for the Mantissa, and a copy of the manual for the Red Rose M3a which was the Levinson version of the Mantissa. I'd be happy to send you photocopies or electronic scans of these if it'd be useful to you. You can also click the link below to access a PDF of the flyer for the Red Rose model 3a (which is in large part the same as your Mantissa). All this said, there's not alot of information in the either the flyer or manual beyond the specs of the machine. Operation is pretty straightforward.IMO the Mantissa was/is a great linestage, and responds VERY well to some tweaking and/or upgrades. Brian Hawkins at Raptor Electronics (who's noted in the post below) is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I can heartily recommend the upgrades that he's able to provide. The URL for his (modest) site is:

Attention to the coupling caps and outboard power supply can really bump the performance of this unit way up. I've tried several different types of coupling caps and can say the V-Caps from VH Audio beat all contenders (TFTF and OIMP, depending on which position you mod). As I understand it there were a few minor changes made to the Mantissa circuit during its production (and incarnation as the RR M3a) and Brian should be able to tell you what vintage you've got and what he can do to improve it if you so desire.
Outside of mods and updates even simple things like tube rolling and a possible "hot rodding" of the inputs that bypasses the selector switch if you're using only one source (this requires no actual mods, just a change in the way it's hooked up) can make improvements in sonic performance. The Mantissa also responds pretty heartily to different power cords (some great, some less so), though I would consider first spending your shekels on upgrades before dropping much scratch on a new PC.
I've had a Mantissa for several years now, and have had alot of fun with it. Feel free to email me (click the (A) by my moniker above) if I can help you with the manuals or tips on this "hot rodding" thing (which was advised to me by Victor Tiscareno and Brian).
Good luck and enjoy the Mantissa!

You could try Raptor Electronics, who just repaired my Mantissa after a Fet fried. The owner is from Audioprism, and was instrumental in the design of the Mantissa. I am now selling it, by the way, if anyone is interested email me. I would just as soon have it sent directly from Raptor to a buyer.
I have used my Mantissa for 7 years, with this being the first ever problem. I have never seen a manual.
