Needed more than 55 wpc. I'm using a Jolida JD-1000RC now.

That's why I've got the ST90. I love maggies, but Jeez, they need a LOT of power.
As been said many times, "There's just something magic when tubes and Maggies get together."

That's what I always said about the 1.6s. In my large room the did extremely well with 100 watts of tube power. I just couldn't get excited about them with a SS amp.
I have an idea of how good it must sound. My Rogue Atlas (55 wpc) does fine with my 1.6s.
I experimented with a Samson SX3200 (now undergoing an extensive mod job) which pumps out 1600 watts per channel. The Maggies liked that very much, but the tubes really make the 1.6s sing.
That Jolida is handsome too. They have come a long way since I had one of their integrateds in the mid '90s.
