Hi allJust wondering if anybody has heard the Audio Note Meishu and OTO PP or SE side by side through AN-K speakers?
I am interested in upgrading to a MEISHU but have no idea of how much of a sonic upgrade I will notice. Thanks all in advance
Follow Ups:
I hope you live near an AN dealer or know one. I know two of them and they both share a high degree of honesty and integrity when it comes to matching AN components.I have heard both (and own neither), but I have heard them both with pretty high level AN-E speakers on which the Silver signature really shines. The E's are amazingly efficient and well-balanced and bring out the best in the 9-W Meishu.
AN is maddening because system matching within AN seems to matter a lot and more is always better and MUCH MORE expensive. I guess that is the price one pays.
Thanks for the responseAs for upgrading my speakers, I don't know which will offer the most in terms of looking into the recording and hearing low level details better - I use my system to mix and master recordings for my business so to hear more means everything.
Do I go for AN-J's or even E's, or do I upgrade the amp to a higher level - or do I have the K's upgraded?I really don't know what to do for the best. I think I need to get to an Audio Note dealer and do some extensive auditioning.
Thanks
I think the answer you gave is a good one.But if you are mixing and mastering, maybe you want to also consider a studio monitor to do that. They are built to do just what you want and so they sometimes are so revealing that they don't make good consumer speakers. AN speakers are very refined. I have always been interested to know if that "refinement" is smoothing over those lower levels of detail you spoke about.
