I just bought a new JD-1000RC integrated and want to pick some brains about tube rolling. I have a good idea about the finals and already have a pair of matched quads of JJ KT77s to replace the stock Chinese EL34s, but am wondering about good replacements for the two 12AT7 drivers and the two 12AX7 preamp tubes.
I have a pair of NOS Mullard 12AT7s and matched pairs of the new Tung-Sol and EH Gold Pin 12AX7s.
Any other ideas?
Oh, I also have a pair of matched quad Groove Tube EL34-M Mullard replicas.
Love this amp by the way. It drives Maggie 1.6s nicely.

Follow Ups:
Isn't it just ridiculously large and heaby? like a solid brick of aluminum.A good friend has one, easily the niecest integrated i've ever heard. Enough power to shake the whole house.
the 1000RC is the only integrated i've heard where i wasn't wishing for a nice separate preamp.
I called Jolida for suggestions. I was looking for a more analytical top end sound, but didn't want to sacrifice a smooth sweet midrange. They suggested trying EH all through or EH EL34s and Mullard NOS on 12AT7s and 12AX7s. I got EH for all tubes and am very happy. I still may try the Mullard NOS on preamp tubes. To tell you the truth I was afraid I would like the Mullard NOSs and not be able to replace them someday. That probably sounds crazy, but I don't want to fall in love with the sound of something not readily available.
I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe buy two matched pairs of each?

and the JJ KT77s for outputs.

I have a pair of Telefunken 12AT7's in my Jolida 1000, and they add a very nice smoothness over the other AT7's I've tried. You're right, a beautiful amp.
