Tough choice boys, AN M2B/M3 or Supratek Cortese
this will feed the JBL6328 active monitoprs with crown amps built in.I find the music a bit harsh thus the tube option. Bass is great and I dowanna loose the JBL punch

Check out this option...Regards, Allen
Hello Mr Wright
thank you for giving me more options to chooce from.
Unfortunately, I have a budget of about SG$10k to get the best preamp that will tame my brutish JBL LSR6328S + LSR6312SP monitors & sub. Front end is the Dl103R into a Whest phonostage. So, the preamp has the unenvyable task of pleasing two masters, and bracketed by a budget to boot
I currently use the Promitheus TVC as a stop gap... or maybe permanently, if the AN M3 or Supratek can't out perform the promitheus ... then, I'll add the preamp buffer and call it a day.
Just maybe, I'll try the McIntosh C46 preamp. Not many dealers allow a home demo in Singapore.
thanks for the advise

Get the AN, its softer and smoother sounding. The Supratek is bright and harsh.
I do not agree with that opinion. I have a Supratek Chardonnay driving a Plinius amplifier and it is neither harsh or bright, it is very musical, smooth but with all the dynamic and instrumental colors as in live performaces.
Yeah!! then why do you think it needs all those gain switches to try to tame it. Also take the bottom cover off and see what you're paying for.
the gain switches are to adjust gain for different sources and amps.supratek is not bright or harsh at all. it is beautiful to my ears. it is different then audio note's sound, which i find boring and flat. but some people like that sound and call it organic. some audio note people will want to flame me for saying these things.
Wow!
Thats different. I too feel that it's the right way to go but wanted to check with the inmates first as I cannot audition a Supratek
Thanks AB

And the current generation of M3's with the new power supply has plenty of punch.
