Hi,
I have Rogue M-150s with Sovtek 12AX7LPS input tubes, RCA 12AU7 cleatops as drivers and EH KT88EH power tubes. Preamp is Rogue 66 Magnum with RCA 12AU7 cleartops. Speakers are Dali Mentor 6 floorstanders (6 ohms-89 db). DAC & Transport are SS.I'm looking for a warmer/sweeter midrange & top end. I want to roll the power tubes. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thry a matched quad of Amperex 12au7 as drivers. Real nice.
Hi.
A friend of mine has Rogue 120 amps. He is using the Penta Labs KT88SC solid plates. These are excellent tubes. Nice clear but full midrange and extended bass. He also has a Rogue 66 Mag. and is using RCA black plates. I agree with a poster below about the TS 12AX7 reissue. A nice tube that is even in all regesters, but with some body in the mids. You may want to check out the Shuguang 12AX7C 8th or 9th generation. I haven't tried these, but have read good things about them. They appear to have a warmer tonal balance, simular to the Mullard sound. He bought the KT88SC at Doug's tubes.dougstubes.com
I'd just swap the sovtek12ax7lps with the new issue of the tung-sol 12ax7 tubes. The tung-sol has a warmer/fuller sound and a much softer top than the Sovtek 12ax7lps. The tung-sol's are cheap and easy to get hold of.M150's are fantastic amps!
Thanks, Iso....I'll give it a try. I have some cryo'ed Tung-Sols laying around somewhere. My m-150s are upgraded from M-120s. Best thing I ever did!
