Before you go far with expensive NOS tubes, consider trying V-Cap teflon coupling caps in place of the stock BAT/Jensen PIO. I'm 100 hrs into break-in of V-Caps TFTF in my VK75SE & the results are extraordinary. Much improved detail & air, tighter and more extended bass, improved dynamics, less swollen midrange. Best $300 I've ever spent on my system.

I am not ready to start moding my amp.,but I have done some work to my 834p and would like to know what caps you changed and if you did the work yourself? Thanks
This is 10 minute soldering job involving replacement of four .22uf/600V caps with the amp flipped on its back. D
I second V-CAPs. Great Northern Sound upgraded my Audio Research LS25 Mk2 with OIMP and TFTF caps, improvements were way beyond my expectations. I've also replaced original 6H30 tubes by best 6H30DR grade tubes, improvement were subtle, but not that profound as replacing caps.
