Hi Radknee,Thaks a lot for your info. If affords me, I should say, a better option. Following your lead I've discovered, from a website in China (http://www.changye.com.cn) that the Z140 (new, US676)seems to be cheaper than the MI 120 (new, US839), which I suspect might already have been discontinued as its information is no longer present in the Myryad official site.
What remains to be done now is to compare their meris and weaknesses. Some people have recommended that I go for a British amp to complement the Elac.
It's been a great help, your information.
Cheers,
bmo

Sure. Will do that. Well, I'll try my best for I don't have much experience in Hi Fi. I'm still mystified by terms like, 'fast', 'punch'. At times, 'staging' and 'imaging' seem to mean the same thing to me, but I'm quite certain it's not.

I think your explanation of this acoustic phenonmenon might be the cause of my dissatisfaction with what I hear from my system. I find staging and imaging are distinctly lacking when listening to passsages with full orchestration. In other words, it's flat. But when it comes to chamber music and jazz, the problem isn't there, or, at least, I'm not conscious of it.This made me think that upgrading of my old Luxman integrated amp (A 005) is the next logical step. Or else the CD player is the culprit as I'm using a Sony HCD D1, a mini-component sans speakers.
