I have one, very versatile. Sound wise I like it better than a VAC standard pre it replaced.
Talked a friend of mine into getting one. He loves it.
They show up on Agon at a price less than 1k.
Agon has one listed now but it has the optional phono and external power supply. $1500Check it out.

quality piece for the $. Several reviewers have used it in many contexts equally well, and I used one happily for almost 3 years.
More info.

I find it interesting that no one has mentioned the Parasound...to go with the Parasound. Galen Carol who has a hifi shop in San Antonio doesn't back down and says I should stick with a Parasound. Hm...
In the interest of full disclosure my amp is a PS Audio…. 200C.
Over 20 years old. My friend’s amp is a Belles 350a and he claims the PCA-2 integrates well.
I think PS audio may have tried to make a statement piece with their re-introduction into the preamp realm.
YMMV.
