Hi All,I have made my decision to buy B&W 703's for my music/movie experience and was thinking of going with Rotel RSX1057 (1200$). But today, when I was talking to a dealer (Located in Chicago), he suggested he has got a display model of Arcam AVR200 for 900 and AVR300 for 1800. He said, Arcam sounds very different has goes great with B&W's.
I have audiotioned Rotel but haven't heard Arcam. Can someone shed some light on how the Arcam products are over Rotel? Would it be a good decision to go with Arcam insted of Rotel? Sound wise, which one is better.
PLEASE PLEASE HELP.....REALLY NEEDED !!!!!!!!!!!!

Arcam is good but a bit overpriced in my honest opinion. Why don't you take a look at some outlaw stuff ?

I will not reply, which is "better". Between the "similaly" price models in Arcam and Rotel, it comes down to "what" you prefer. If you prefer more treble, then go with Rotel, else go with Arcam. During an audition with a friend at a dealer, we heard both the amps on a Triangle loudspeaker. I liked the Arcam and my friend liked the Rotel. YMMV. You need to try them with your speakers and also try other amps. Cable combinations will also change the sound.
Hi,Considering my budget, I probably would be interested in getting a New Rotel RSX1057 (which I auditioned) at 1200$ vs. the used Arcam Diva AVR200 at $900 (the dealer has a display unit for sale).
Looking at the two, and the difference is not too high, which one would be a better bet? I think Rotel has more WPC than Arcam but how about the sound?
WPC is basically Brochure Babble :-) You have had considered responses.. why did you bother to ask?
Personally I've found the Arcams to be better sounding, also even the build quality is much better.
Hi Bare...Thanks for the posting. Do you think Arcam with B&W would be a good combination? Since, lot of vendors suggest Rotel, would it be sound wise more mature dealing with Arcam? Which one is better to go for, if so, 200 or 300?
I second the Arcam recomendation. They make wonderful stuff, for pretty reasonable prices. I've owned a bunch of their stuff over the years, the most recent being a DV29.
