Pass Labs X3 for the fronts. The X3 is basically a 3-channel X150.

How did the sampson compare with the Pass for front channel duties?
The Samson sounds nearly as powerful as the Pass but not quite. It's also a clean sounding amp, very neutral, but not as smooth or refined as the Pass. One other possible drawback with the Samson is the small fan inside. At normal listening levels and if you're sitting back a few feet, you don't notice it.
For $200 you can hardly go wrong and the Samson is a better "general purpose" amp vs the Sonic Impact Super T and other similar low power "T" amps. I would say that the little "T" amps are smoother and better sounding for critical listening but they just don't have the guts for realistic dynamics..... which you need for a home theater or rock music. (I found the "T" amp to be nice on vocals, smooth jazz, etc but just couldn't cut it for louder rock or blues).
Thanks Abe,These are the differences that I would have guessed one would hear.
WOuld you think that the Samson would be a good amp for a DIY sub?
The Samson is a full range general purpose amp so I suspect it will do well for a sub amp. It can be bridged mono for more power. On the other hand, there are other amps that may be better suited for a DIY sub. I haven't investigated but you might check out Part Express.
consider the Samson SX3200.
