Really, not even a screw, an opamp, a fuse or an internal wiring or socket? I thought it was almost impossible nowdays.
< < Really, not even a screw, an opamp, a fuse or an internal wiring or socket? We tried sourcing them from one company that originally always made them in Europe, but they later also adopted the vague labeling. I don't know if there are any screw makers left in the US or not.
-- Op-amps -- First of all, we don't use op-amps. Second of all, most semiconductors are made overseas. Most of the discrete device fabs (even for US companies like ON Semiconductor) are in Thailand or Malaysia or Taiwan. But not China.
-- Wiring -- We use Cardas. Made in USA.
-- Sockets -- We use Neutrik (Lichtenstein), Switchcraft (Mexico), and Cardas (USA).
When we purchase the Pioneer manufacturing kits for our DVD players, some are marked "Malaysia", some are marked "Japan", and some are marked "China".
The bottom line is that we go out of our way to avoid using any Chinese parts or materials. Is there some small part that sneaks its way in? Probably, but this is probably less than 0.01% of the content in most of our products.
It's amazing to know that there are still amps that do not use Chinese parts.
