If so, the C352 seems like the natural replacement. I have the C352 driving B&W 302s and they're very well matched. You'll have to add a phone stage, though.I didn't like the Arcam with B&Ws -- unpleasantly bright and thin to the point of shrillness.
Follow Ups:
I have the c350, and I have never had a problem with reliability. It lacks some of the convenience features like phono and a/b switches... so I would be deciding on those points. If I was to buy another integrated today, it would at least have a/b speaker switches so I don't need to add an external one. The little NAD external phono stage is actually not bad for the price, though and looks snazzy along side the c350.There doesn't seem to be much new to the c352... 10 more watts and probably some of the refinements that made it into the c320BEE... which is not bad.
Even the best electronics can die on you... sometimes we even secretly want them to so we can have an excuse to try something new.
Thanks for the tip about Arcam. I was able to demo Rotel's 1062 integraded last night and didn't find it enough of an improvement to spend that much more. But, the demo room was lacking and the 603s3's they were using looked really beat. Most people say it would be a good match, though.I liked the C350 except for the reliability issues. I can't stand having to send anything out to repair, warranty or not. Yet, I'm still thinking of sending it out for repair to replace the ancient NAD 7140 currently driving my 302's in the bedroom.
The salesperson said the C352CT is exactly the same as the C350. He also wanted to steer me towards either Cambridge Audio, Rotel, Or Krell. They have NAD, but he clearly didn't want me to buy one. Man, there has to as least be something different about the 352.
It's too bad people don't have more experience with the Cambridge Audio 840a and that there aren't any on the used market. That thing has all the inputs I'll ever need and then some. :)
So.. I'm still searching..
It's a moot point now, but the 352 is NOT the same as the 350. Your sales guy had some kind of agenda. It's good that you were able to go elsewhere for your Cambridge. Enjoy it!
I used to like this store, but they had a change in attitude. They stopped taking in as many trades and no longer have used equipment out on the floor. They used to be friendlier, too. It's like they're trying to scare smart people away and only sucker in the fools.I'm just another customer lost to online deals. No tax, factory refurbished, etc..
I was already leaning away from NAD because of reliability. I hope the CA fares better. Plus, it's nice to try something different after my third NAD. If it sucks, I'll go back to NAD (or something else).
