Excellent pre amp, very quiet and transparent, excellent phono section as well and accomodates moving coil. If in good condition, worth around $175
Follow Ups:
$200 covered shipping and everything, so hopefully I didn't get hosed. It's in nice shape, too.
If the electronics are fine, you will have no complaints.
Hey, Yamahaluver,From you name, I know you like Yamaha a lot. I used to like them but they seems abandoning high end market except within Japan. I still own a CX800 and a CDX 1050. My CDX 1050 has the open/close issue. I have opened it and lubricate using sewing machine oil and still no improvement. I think you have posted a remedy on that. I cannot find it. Can you post it one more time?
Hi Paul,I know that you are a NS-1000 fan as well, recentely I had a chance to hear the NSX-10000 and GF-1, never thought NS-1000 could be improved but I surely did hear it.
I cleaned up the rails and use silicon grease on the gears and rails, give that a try, its too good a CDP to waste it. About Yamaha, if you see their recent MX-D1 and YPC-1 power/pre offering, don't think they are abandoning it entirely, even Stereophool liked the amp, I am not into digital so am staying away from it.
