Current distributor, Jason Scott Distribution is dropping the line.In case anyone out there is interested and capable, contact EC.

Both companies are making a play for the NA market after many years. You sure could do a lot worse, eh?
Cripes, I tried over 2 years to get some simple info on some upgrades from the current distributor. No matter how I asked, I could not get a simple answer on pricing.Still - my ECI-4 is the best amp I've heard on B&W N805s and isn't bad on Gallo Nuc Ref 3s (doesn't do that well with Apogee Stages or Soundlab Pristine IIs though.)
It may not be the fault of the distributor. I guess from your response that you have had problems via the NA distributor? Problems exist in other territories too. Here in the UK I have a friend with a faulty Electrocompaniet pre/power combo that sits abandoned in a cupboard as the last UK distributor could not obtain spares from Electrocompaniet. The previous UK distributor could not get spares either according to the engineer who was servicing their range during that period when I spoke with him last year in an attempt to get my friend's amp fixed.
Maybe customer service is becoming a thing of the past? I have just e-mailed the manufacturer of my turntable in U.K. seeking for some advice and information regarding the maintenance of my turntable. The information that the US distributor put together was not very good, and there were some information that I would like to confirm with the manufacturer. It's been a week and I have not received any response or acknowledgement that they've received my inquiry.I've owned my turntable for about 6 years. Prior to the death of the founder of the company a few years back, I had contacted them regarding some issues I was having with the turntable. I was surprised when I received a call from the UK one afternoon and the founder himself was on the phone helping me trouble shoot the issues. Needless to say, I was impressed with that kind of customer service. But I guess we should not set such a high, or any, expectation anymore....
Once they get your money, just pray that nothing will break. Or you'll end up with a piece of expensive paperweight.
May I guess from your description that you have a J A Michell turntable? If so then I am an owner of one too and would say that in my experience their service after the death of John Michell has remained at the highest level since his son-in-law took over. So you should expect a response. If I am right and you have any problems contact me off of the forum and I will give them a call on your behalf.
Strange, the AW100 (close to the ECI amp) do that well with my Apogee Stages.
I just found the soundstage with the ECI-4 on the Stages to be too recessed & the treble a bit rolled off. Sound wasn't really bad, but the Stages just didn't shine like the should. Even tried the tweeter switch in the "high" position (which is usually too bright with my VTL/Innersound in the mix).Have dropped the Gallo Nuc 3s in place of the N805s for now & the sound is quite nice. Would still say the Electrocompaniet & the B&Ws have one HECK of a synergy.
Hello,Will be the preamp section of ECI. With the AW100 the high position is very bright, the soundstage good (very open), no big differences between the AW100 and a Audio Synthesis Decade.
I'm using a VTL preamp.
