I checked out your web site and you have a nice range of products. I've lived in a number of countries and I often find that dealers will look hard to find a domestic product line they can carry. Are you saying this can't be done where you live?

Metralla,Maybe another reason Katylied said what he said is because he doesn't make anywhere as much money selling Chinese hi end as he does selling non-Chinese brands. It's largely known that the Chinese people who have expendable income want to be westernized, so they buy American clothes, listen to American music, buy American and European hi end. Krells and Mark Levinsons and the like ring with a tone of exoticness. And the impressed buyers there can also brag how much they paid for an amp. Anyone who has heard equipment from Consonance, Cayin, Melody, Aurum Cantus, among others, know they are not crap or anything near it. As a dealer, Katylied choose not to sell domestically (for him) produced equipment, not because as he says, none of them sound good, but profits are A LOT higher selling the Chinese western goods. Point blank.
Windowcleaner,Right on !!!
Profit and nothing else. And half the gear he selfs, didnt check his website, is probably made by an Cayin/Spark or other factory HERE in china...
And why should i buy stuff i can buy back home in Europe, and secondly why should i buy it here when it is taxed like hell.
Maybe he is selling Mark Livonson for a few thousand bux when it's actualy chinese stuff with his name on... Says it all.. only depends how much you want to get ripped of. I'm not saying the gear is bad... who am i against a LivingStone
Michael, believe me, on most of the US brands the prices here are lower than in the US and I can also explain to you why.
I've also not said that you have to buy here products that you can buy in country, you can buy what you want but don't blame on me if I don't sell Chinese stuff.
The products that I sell are all manufactured not in China, with only one exception but I'm talking about an entry level products (Arcam). I cannot say that the price of the high end stuff is fair, but cheap is cheap, always and for everything in the world.
Happy listening!
Hi windowcleaner.
Maybe you talk in this way because you don't know me and don't know the market here. First, I'm a music lover and I love to do my job, the job I was looking for and I was lucky to be able to do (for about 25 years). Selling local products actually is the only way to make some money because on many of the US brand the price here are so cheap (profit to the dealer very very low!!!!!!!) that you cannot imagine. I've experience with some Chinese products (Primaluna, Cayn, Aurum Cantus) and I can only say that for the money are extremely good, but they have a long way to go to know how let those beauty (externally) sounds good (at least to me). It's a matter a culture and experience. Please note that I've nothing against China, Chinese people and Chinese products. That said, you are free to buy what you think is good for you and for your money as well as I'm free to choose the products that I like and that, if possible, can let me make enough money to survive (not become rich, I'm not rich).
Cheers
"Selling local products actually is the only way to make some money because on many of the US brand the price here are so cheap (profit to the dealer very very low!!!!!!!) that you cannot imagine."So, you can sell Cayin locally, cannot you? If Chinese tube amp makers let you sell locally in China, then the amps will flood on eBay from those who are only willing take $50 profit. Amp makers for sure loss international market. I just cannot imagine you will be allowed sell locally in China (maybe only for few specific models).

Can you explain the correlation between " sounds good " and your "a culture and experience"? If you are shanghai, I guess you have to being eating chinese food while listening a Chinese amp, right? LOL
I will answer to you as follow:
1) can you sell Cayn, locally: Yes I can, but I don't want
2)amp on Ebay: there is no way to control this because you can buy here at very low prices, but I'm not sure that are on the same quality of the one you can buy on your country by the authorized distributor. Some manufacurers also sell to the domestic market with different brands or with different features
3)Culture and experience: yes, both are needed. Culture in the art of listening and experience applied to the equipment. In Italy we don't have the same experience in making hifi equipment as in the US or England and only very recently we're able to make some good products but if we talk about wines or cheese it's a different story! And, finally, I enjoy eating Chinese food but not listening to a Chinese amp.
while listening to a Chinese amp and I swear music sounds a lot better. You ought to try it. (Hahaha! I'm just kidding, I just couldn't resist.) Best with your business, I'm just glad more people are turned onto hi end audio and staying away from the dreaded IPOD!(Uh oh ... here comes the lynching from those sour APPLES!)
I will try, drinking Chinese wine too!! (not so bad, really!).
Thank you WindowCleaner!
Cheers
