I have a couple of questions. Does the Modwright 9.0SE linestage invert phase? How about C-J Premier 12 amps? Is phase-inversion audible? I could see how it may change the sound of fast transients, but does it change the sound of music?
Thanks!
Follow Ups:
Count the number of active gain stages, if it is odd, then the item inverts phase. If the count is even, it is phase correct.
My cj PV12L line stage is phase inverting and if not compensated for, leaves the music lacking a bit of its natural"drive". The momentum of a song is diminished, and with it, its emotional impact. Mind you this is not a huge, obvious effect in many cases, but can, based on your aural sensitivity to it, be of concern. Switching the red and black on one set of speaker terminals sets phase right again.
You change both sets of speaker wires, otherwise your speakers will be out of phase.Answer to the original question: It's no big deal if you reverse the + and - cables on both speakers either at the amp or at the speakers.
You are absolutely right That's what I get for responding over my lunch 1/2 hour!
