Hi Al G,Thanks for your suggestion. I chose the radio shack 13.8v knowing that 14v would be max allowed. I might be wrong about stability on radio shack power supply but your suggestion have me worried. What happened if radio shack is not stable and sent the valtage pike over 14v, and I would fry my charlize. Any comment on stability of power supply? Is it true that the higher the voltage, the stronger the control? At least that's what I pick up from reading modification for sonic impact t amp posting. If that so, shouldn't my 13.8v have more "base" than 12.8v?
What about running in the amp. My version of Charlize comes with black gate. From previous reading on the net, indicates that black gate takes a while to run in. Could that contribute to the "small" in bass?
You had a valid point in silver cable. I guess I need to switch to regular old copper ones to try. But will do so afer the amp is fully run in.
Follow Ups:
My Charlize is the latest version with the BG input caps. As I have not tried my unit at 13.8 volts I really cannot give an opinion on that. The last one I built for a friend has had the Black Gate 4.7 MFd @50v input caps changed to Dayton brand, Parts Express sourced metalized polypro caps. Those caps are physically much bigger than the stock caps and must be mounted off the board. The benefit is much smoother HF response.
My unit is totally stock. I find the bass response to be very satisfying and tuneful. My main complaint with using my usual tube amp with these newly acquired Genesis Physics model III speakers was that the tube amp had very woolly bass. In contrast the Charlize has very "tuneful" bass yet reaches very deep. I seem to have plenty of power and can play the system at 95+ Db before clipping.
Perhaps running the amp at that high of voltage is throwing something off?

mmmm...I guess I will try to get a lead acid at 12 some v to try. Maybe you are correct that 13.8v is too close to the limit and it is throwing something off. I do notice that the bass presentation is present, but I was expecting more authority than just being able to hear the base.
In my reply to the other response, the difference is between "dup" and "DUP" on drum note, between "charlize" and my old goldmund integrated.
Maybe my VR is a problem. I am using a nice Japanese one. but 100k instead of 50k recommended by DIY paradise. Could that be the case?
... people I have talked to that have tend to say the BG's take huge hours to burn in. My guess based on my experience with burning in other caps and bass weakness during the process is that could be the cause of your missing bass.
Noted. Thanks on clarifying the burn in require for the BG. The thing is that from Al G, his is also with new BG version, however, his is with plenty of bass to start, without the burn in.I guess it's relative. I ran a side by side with my goldmund. same source and same speaker, in this case, a 90db 8" full rage in open baffle.
I understand that I should not expect house shattering bass, but, just comparing the two amps, Charlize is a "dup", while the goldmund is a "DUP" on durm.
