I purchased a DIY Paradise, Charlize TriPath 2022 based T-Amp last week and am really enamored with it.The amp comes as a stuffed board and it is up you to provide 12v DC and the rest (case, jacks, you know...the rest).
Any tips on further mods to the amp like capacitor upgrades or such?
Are there any others here with T-Amps?

About $130 direct from Hong Kong. Very sweet little amp!
I have been thinking about this amp or one of the others mentioned.
I bought a basic Sonic Impact T Amp and use it for a small office set up, but had thought of buying another and trying them bi-amped in the main rig.Now I am wondering about using these, either bridged as monoblocks or bi-amped.

...the one in the shiny metal case with big volume knob in the center. This little jewel is amazing! I had it in my main setup driving a pair of reasonably efficient Tannoy Definition D500 speakers, 91dB 6Ohm nom. It's a very transparent and smooth sounding amp that can play fairly loud but as benhen said, "not quite Led Zeppelin loud". Otherwise a fantastic little amp!
Mine is presently driving (if you can believe it) a pair of Thiel CS 1.5 speakers rated at 86dB, 4 Ohms. They're in our family room connected to the TV set to get better audio for our TV viewing. ;-)
a few weeks back you bought a "pro-audio" amp, and I didn't see any report on your opinions about its sound. Did I miss something, or is it still to come?Joe
You didn't miss it. I never posted about the Samson Servo 300 pro amp.For $200 plus shipping (from http://bhphoto.com, then search on Samson Servo), it's a very decent amp. Some other folks here have played with various Samson amps with good results. They're definitely more powerful than the little "T amps".
The Samson amps are built in the PRC. They don't have thick "audiophile approved" front panels and chunky carrying handles but they sound pretty decent.
I had mine in my main setup for a while where it did a great job and now it's serving as the rear surround channel amplification for my HT.
I would have *NEVER* guessed that they would work okay with the Sonic Impact T-Amp!At the time I had a Nakamichi PA-7 Stasis amp for power. My ST-70 sounded terrible on the Theils!
I miss those speakers badly...

...amazing job of driving even inefficient speakers to loud levels but the sonics are greatly improved with easier to drive speakers (like a SET).
For almost a year. Yesterday, I decided to try it with a NAD preamp. Now I turn the SI up to about 2 o'clock and let the NAD do the rest. Sounds great! It gets a room loud, but just shy of Led Zeppelin loud. If they had an amp that was just a hair more powerful, I wouldn't need anything else.
There is the discontinued 3-channel Teac A-L700P, at 30 watts/channel. I have one of those modified by Vinnie Rossi to run on batteries. Very nice amp! There is a used one for sale for $127 over at Audio Circles. See link.
You can also look up Vinnie's offerings at Red Wine Audio for a lot more money (and higher quality). He has 30 watters and 70 watters.
... listened to it yesterday and it's amazing what you get for $130. At something like 8 wpc it works best with easy to drive speakers; much like a small SET. Cranked to 1/4 volume it puts out the music at a level that is quite room filling and at the upper limit of where I would want to listen to some tunes for any amount of time.I wouldn't put it in-line in place of my main tube system but the thought has crossed my mind that I could be content with the T as my only system if circumstances so required. Those who think of the inexpensive T's as in the same league as a boom-box probably haven't heard one.
My T does a lot of things well. However, I do always miss the warmth and life of tubes.
...Of a TriPath (or any SS design really) for me is that I have a couple of pairs of speakers that are not "tube friendly".Right now I have the Charlize hooked up to a pair of Genesis Physics Model III's that neither my modded Heathkit W5-M's or Dynaco MkIVs would drive well.
I had been using an Altec 9441a professional power amp to drive these speakers and find the TriPath based amp to sound MUCH better.
In a really quick-N-dirty comparison I like the T-Amp better on my large Advents over the Dynaco MkIV's also.
I like the comparison to the sound of a SET, this thing is like a non-impedance picky low powered tube amp. They are very similar in character.
