Yes, without some explanation it does seem like an odd question. It has been a preamp of interest to me, but there seems to have been a number for sale on Audiogon.....practically at the same time. Just wondered if something was up, or maybe just the usual audiophile nervosa thing.

Stew G,Since it's on your list, I would definitely recommend you get it into your system for a listen. That is the only way you will be able to tell, as "passives" can be system dependent; though the design of the SE PLC has made it easier than most to integrate successfully(e.g., long ic's have little to no effect).
RE the SE PLC...It has been my experience that success a lot of times depends on the level of your system(i.e., the higher end equipment, the better your results will be) used with the Sonic Euphoria. The unit itself has "no signature" and suffers none of the pit falls that can plague other passives, like dynamic restrictions.
But again, in the end, you must try before you buy! If it works(for you), you will never have a need to go back to others again(tubes or ss).
I agree about compatability. That is probably why there are so many for sale. People buy it and it doesn't work in their system, so off to Agon it goes. I am a big fan of TVC preamps, but I know that they won't work for every application. But when it all comes together, they can dust more expensive preamps most of the time.
......."I agree about compatability. That is probably why there are so many for sale. People buy it and it doesn't work in their system, so off to Agon it goes"Sonic Euphoria offers a 30 day money back gaurantee so why are these folks not taking advantage of that?

Agree 100% and that is why I kept mine despite the fact that it is not compatible with my EAR834P phono preamp. I luv the 834P but am going to upgrade that instead of the SE......that's how good it is in my system :-)
Cheers,
