Are there separate channel fuses, even inside the case (be careful inside there)?I've shorted a preamp voltage regulator by not waitng an hour or so for caps to fully discharge before replacing tubes.
Impossible to troubleshoot from afar, but check everything upstream, reversing wires, etc. If it comes down to an amp channel out without a fuse as the culprit it's best left to a qualified repair person.
If so, maybe inmates can steer you to a reasonable service center in your area.
Been there, done that, can relate and hope it ends up no biggie.
Follow Ups:
Well, I havent open the case since I am concern about breaking the Shanling seal. I have reverse the wires, rechecked everything, re install the old tubes, install the new tubes, turn the unit off for hours, turned the unit on and still. I hear a faint audible signal from the none working side, but the working side works perfectly. Man I feel like giving up on tubes, its such a pita but the sound is soooo good!
It's your property.
This will not void the warranty.
Only unauthorized repairs or mods would void it.
Amp companies do not want you to open it because there are hazardous voltages inside, even after power off.
Give it a half hour and then remove the cover.
Now do it!
...keep things in perspective and believe that it'll be something simple and inexpensive.I've had solid state gear with repetitive failures, so tubes alone are not at fault.
Advice that I've given myself many times, but only lately accepted, is to find reliable gear (even if not the be all and end all - none is), reach a level of enjoyment that is yours and no one else's, and accept the final setup as "permanent until something breaks". If tubes, try to have reliable gear that uses cheap and easily found replacements and replace them like you would tires on your car - well before you think you'll suffer a blowout from excess wear.
Did you replace the Power tubes? If so try switching, left for right, on the upstream preamp or phase inverter tubes. Likewise if it's the preamp tubes you replaced, try switching the downstream tubes, left for right.
I tried the smaller tubes but not the big ones, will do that later on. Tired of dealing with it for now, need a break. I have a headache
