Thinking of selling my XL600 and wondered waht to ask. It is in nearmint condition, I am the original owner. It was used to drive a pair of Infinity SM150s only and never abused. I have upgraded to a Mark Levinson 333 and a Krell KRC-3 preamp
Follow Ups:
but I've been able to pick up the P500 version for around $200 of late. Given the XL series presents a bit better and has an extra set of output devices over the DH-500 series, it should bring more. The rest will be dictated by presentation and the condition of the unit.TAFKA Steve also provides some hints on remedial maintenance for amps of this age. I've replaced the big filter caps on mine but also updated the driver boards with those from Musical Concepts, where you can also pick up the filter caps in question.
These certainly have proven to be workhorse amps over the years.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
I'm thinking of trying to sell mine for $500 on Audiogon in the Fall of this year. You can subscribe to Audiogon's Blue Book to get a report on recent sales prices. Since the power supply electrolytic caps are the originals and it is 25 or so years old, they are likely to fail in the next decade. The other liability for mine is fan noise, which is obtrusive in quiet environments.OTOH, may I'll just replace the caps and sell mine to my cousin for his home theatre.
Send it to me
