I've recently moved to Lexington KY, and my audio side of life has not been friendly at all.My tube phono pre is picking up a country music station. I played around with different IC, PC(grounded and ungrounded), power outlets, positions and everything else I can think of but no success. Kimber PBJ made the problem worst, but didnt affect the digital source at all with my tube integrated amp.
Tonight, I finally checked the inside of my phono and something seem to be out of place(that I know of).
I've moved my phono pre to a lower rack, and the signal seem to be under better control, but now I'm picking up 2 freaking stations. This is getting outta hand, so I'm writing and hoping to receive some great advice.
Any thoughts? I would appreciate anything,
btw, there are two things I cannot control. My lease does not end for over 11 months and there is a huge radio tower about 0.5 mile away from my apartment...
Am I doomed?

Thanks for more info, appreciate it.
Dear RisaBet,
As for tubes dampers I'm thinking about getting some Pearl Coolers. Will see if it'll improve some of microp.Dear Gary,
I'm starting to think the main colpit is my tonearm wire/IC, since I found out that I dont hear any RFI when I unplug the TT wires.
I switched to HO-MC cart from LO-MC today, so I dont noticed RFI as much during quiet passages...
per chance what brand of IC are you using? Mine was a ZU Xaus.

Thank you for the great link. I could never get the search option to work right on this site...Looks like I just gotta be extremely patient. Nice to know that non-tube pre are prone to RFI as well. Too bad records sound great, otherwise I wouldnt be playing with it.

There a lot of great information there.
that fit around the tubes and may solve your problem. You may need to ground them to the chassis some how.

Opps!! I mean to say "nothing seem to be out of place".
I had a similar problem with my tube phono stage (Wright WP100). It turned out to be the cable from the tone arm to the phono stage. I did everything from instally all new tubes to just swapping out cables one by one.

that was supposed to have been "installing all new tubes"
