RE: Dynavector xx2 mk2 preliminary report

Posted by MusicHead 2 on November 10, 2010 at 08:23:06:

Try different loadings and get a MintLP protractor for your setup it can make a huge difference in the performance of the cartridge. I moved from the Karat -> XX2 MkII -> XV-1s. I also tried a Maestro which was more in line with the Karat than the XX2 performance wise. The main difference will be how the music is presented, the XX2 will have a much broader range of expression. The Karat and Maestro just run through the music in comparison. Do a web search, there is a review that gives some insight on the setup of the XX2 MkII. Mine loaded at 500 and if I remember correct the reviewer preferred 1000.
