one of the cures for pump noise

Posted by hifitommy on September 4, 2023 at 18:00:50:

is to use a VERY long tube and locate the pump in a different room. i was going to do that with my Maplenoll Athena, a quite VIVID sounding unit, but never got to it. i acquired my SOTA Sapphire/MMT and opted to sell off the Maplenoll and enjoy the SOTA.

a further benefit with a long tube is that any pulsing of the pump is greatly reduced. it may obviate the need for the sometimes used plenum tank seen in some reviews.

personally, I never experienced any effects of pulsing, even with a relatively short tube.
