Its a Band Aid

Posted by stereo5 on February 20, 2021 at 10:46:06:

The dual pivot is just a band aid for a flawed arm. I never liked the 3D arm on my VPI Prime, it felt cheap and needed constant fiddling. It got to be a real PITA to have to adjust the arm before I could play records. The arm was always tilting to one side or the other and I had to constantly adjust the side weights and the tonearm weight.

After 2 years of not using it, I traded it in on a new Technics SL 1200G and couldn't be happier. If the gimbaled arm was available when I bought the Prime, I would still have it. I bought the Prime from Audio Connection in NJ and it was set up properly.
