Sansui 221 receiver / SP-30 bookshelf speaker combo

Vintage audio continues to amaze me! I just bought (really just for the heck of it) a Sansui 221 receiver and Sansui SP-30 bookshelf speakers the other day from a craigslist seller. Originally this combo was marketed as a "beginner" system in 1975. The receiver is 8 watts per channel and the speakers are rated at 20 watts! The quality of sound this system produces blew my mind - couldn't believe how strong it was! I can't stop smiling over this. Only thing I had to do was replace the fuse type lights for the radio dial and it was good to go. Tomorrow when the wife goes to her doctor appointment I'm gonna hook the 221 to my Altec Valencias and probably smile big again! The first watt is the most important!
