RE: Matsushita Oil Capacitor

Posted by Brian Levy on November 5, 2012 at 16:56:35:

I just bought 4 2mfd 600 wvdc oil caps to use in my speaker crossovers that need 4mfd. When I got them, they were really small and I suspected possibly fakes but had them checked and they are from 1.8-2.0 mfd each and wit a little research traced the back to their original manufacturer as being US made for military equipment and industrial instruments in harsh environments and hence terminated in a rather unusual manner. In combination they'll occupy about a third of the space of the original 4mfd 200vdc oil cans. Only a little larger than the 4mfd polys I had originally used by found unsatisfactory.
