Stock Schiit Freya 6sn7 Tubes (must read)

Posted by scruffy_ on March 8, 2017 at 16:48:07:

I'm now using the VT-231 RCA, black plates in the output stage of my Freya amp and went back to the stock tubes in the voltage stage. These stock tubes started out with a midrange glare, but then settled in very nicely.

What I want to emphasize, however, is that the stock tubes say 68HC, which happens to be a very rare Russian tube that's supposed to be similar to the Tung Sol oval plates according to Brent Jessee! See the attached link.

I asked Schiit who made these tubes but could not get a straight answer. All they said was that they get their tubes from several sources.

If anybody has additional information on these tubes, please let us know! My system never sounded this good! I gather that they are Russian re-issues, but I never seen them advertised.
