RE: Replacement of 5Z4P tube

Posted by tubegopher on March 7, 2017 at 10:30:24:

Hi Tubers,
I just recently purchased a cheap Chinese amp kit that sounds like what you have. It has two 6p3p (6L6) two 6N8P (6SN7) and a 5Z4P. I only bought it as something to do since I am retired and I have run out of tube projects to work on. I have not yet received it, so I am wondering how your amp turned out and if you have any lessons learned that I could use.
What rectifier tube did you end up using? Also, what tubes are you using now?
I would appreciate anything you have in terms of info.
Thanks,
Don
